Can My Employer Terminate Me Without Cause?

Published February 20, 2014 by Matt Fendon Law Group | Firm News

One of the most frustrating situations a person can find him or herself in is having been terminated without cause. This type of termination does not follow a series of disciplinary actions, it simply seems to happen out of the blue. People who are terminated in this fashion are often left feeling stressed about an uncertain future or worried about having no immediate source of income. Providing that your employer did terminate you without cause, and not as a result of discrimination or retaliation for something you did or said, it is highly unlikely that you will have any recourse available to you. On the other hand, if you feel you were wrongly terminated, an employment law attorney from our Phoenix firm is ready to help you aggressively defend your rights and see that justice is served.

Terminated employees are not eligible to claim unemployment benefits. If your termination is determined to have been as a result of your employer discriminating against you due to your gender, race, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability, our firm will work tirelessly to help you either get your job back or fight for unemployment benefits on your benefit. In some instances we have even seen employers fire employees as a form of retaliation for reporting illegal activity or filing a workers’ compensation claim after sustaining an on-the-job injury.

Our lead attorney here at Fendon Law Firm, P.C. is the state’s first Board Certified Specialist in the field of Workers’ Compensation law and one of the longest practicing employment law attorneys in the area. With more than 50 years legal experience and a steadfast determination to help those employees who have been wrongly discriminated against or denied benefits, our legal team is who you want fighting to protect your interests. To discuss your situation with a Phoenix employment law attorney or to find out more about what our firm can do for you, we urge you to call Fendon Law Firm, P.C. right away.
