Hearing Locations
For Arizona workers’ compensation cases, injured workers can have their hearings set in the following place: Pheonix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Lake Havasu City/Kingman, and Yuma.
At the initial hearing, the injured worker is typically the star witness. Depending on the issue, other nonmedical witnesses may also testify at the initial hearing. It is an opportunity for the Phoenix injured worker to establish credibility as to his or her medical complaints. We can honestly say that this hearing is very important because if the Flagstaff injured worker makes a poor impression, the judge may end up ruling against him or her despite what the medical testimony shows.
After the initial hearing which can be held in one of the above mentioned places, further hearings will be set in Phoenix or Tucson for medical witnesses and other professional witnesses such as labor market consultants to testify.
The process can last anywhere from 4 to 10 months, on average. It is crucial to have an experienced workers’ compensation attorney such as one of Fendon Law Firm’s attorneys to assist you and navigate you through the process.
