Myofascial Type Injuries
Myofascial type injuries are soft tissue, i.e., muscular injuries. Believe it or not, myofascial injuries can mimic symptoms that are similar to intraspinal injuries, such as herniated discs and stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal). The most common forms of treatment for these injuries are trigger point injections and physical therapy. Very frequently these types of injuries are coupled with more serious structural type conditions, and the myofascial issues take a back seat to the structural issue. Thus, it’s important to complain to your doctor(s) about all conditions that are bothering you, and make sure they are documented.
