How Long Do I Have To File A Workers' Comp Claim?

If you have sustained a serious injury or a loved one was killed in a workplace accident, or while performing a work-related task, you may be eligible to file a claim for workers' compensation benefits. State workers' compensation laws give individuals one year from the date of the accident, or from the date they become aware that their injury stems from a work-related accident, to file a claim. Failure to file a claim within this time frame will likely result in a denial of benefits.

Does Workers' Compensation Cover Ptsd?

Post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, is a very real condition that can develop after an individual has gone through an extremely traumatic experience. While commonly seen in military personnel returning from war, PTSD can affect individuals in all types of workplace scenarios. Firefighters, police officers, first responders, construction workers and others who go through life-threatening or personally traumatic experiences while on the job are usually more susceptible to experiencing the symptoms of PTSD.

I Was Denied Social Security Disability Benefits. What Now?

Social Security disability insurance can provide benefits and financial compensation to individuals who are suffering from a serious illness or those who have sustained debilitating injuries, preventing them from being able to return to work. If you have been denied social security disability benefits, you may be wondering what rights you have and if there is anything you can do to appeal your claim. The first thing we advise you do is hire a skilled Social Security disability attorney to fight on your behalf.
